Video Game Wedding Invitations

March 4, 2010

Mashable recently featured a couple who share an immense love of video games. They decided that, in lieu of traditional wedding invitations, to create a Mario-inspired video game with bride and groom characters. They then developed BRILLIANT packaging and sent out the game to their friends and family. However, there was one catch! To learn about the details of the wedding, you had to beat the game. Check it out:

This video shows the perspective of someone playing with the bride character. You can also choose to be the groom! It is the same idea as choosing Mario or Luigi in the traditional game.

I think it is so cool that they went with their passions and even developed a “game manual” to go with it! What do you guys think?

Macs and Beyond

Mashable had done it again! Their roundup of fabulous albeit unconventional Apple inspired products is just brilliant. Here are a few of my favorites:

This Snow White computer sticker makes a clever play on the Apple logo. You can get a range of sizes and colors on Etsy.

This computer case from TwelveSouth makes your Macbook actually look like a book! Love it!

iMacquarium takes old Apple desktop monitors and turns them into adorable fish bowls. The whimsy of this is just killin me 🙂

Just click over to Mashable to see the other Apple inspired products that they featured in a recent roundup. Which one would you most like to buy? Personally, I want the Snow White sticker!

State of the Internet

February 4, 2010

Thank you Mashable for showcasing this amazing graphic created by the editors of Focus. The “internet” and “social media” can seem really vague. This graphic does a great job of showcasing how the country uses the internet. Very interesting indeed!

Is this consistent with how you use the internet? I think its interesting that I’m part of such a small percentage (7%) of people under the age of 25 that blog. I would love to know your thoughts!

My shiny syndrome is not just related to actual “shiny objects.” I also get very excited about new gadgets, web applications, etc. This is very useful since I work on digital and social media marketing efforts to make a living.

Anyway, my favorite techie blog, Mashable, recently shared this new comic strip and I just had to share!

For those of you that are techies too and get the humor, feel free to comment. For those of you that think this is totally ridiculous, don’t worry about it!
